Jun 28, 2022

Four members of the Washington men's rowing team have been named to the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association's All-America teams, the IRCA announced today.

Dutchmen Simon van Dorp and Gert-Jan van Doorn were named first-team All-America, while Jack Walkey and Logan Ullrich were named to the second team.

Van Dorp, a senior from Amsterdam, served as a co-captain for the 2022 season, having taken the two previous years off to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games. This spring, he rowed  in every race in the UW's varsity eight, including as the five seat IRA Championships.

Van Doorn, a grad student from Leiden, The Netherlands, was also in the varsity eight crew all of 2022, including in the six seat at IRAs. He's a two-time, first-team All-American, having made the team in 2021, when he helped lead the Huskies to the national championship.

Walkey, a junior from Victoria, B.C., Canada, and Ullrich, a junior from Brisbane, Australia, both rowed in the Huskies' top crew at IRAs. Walkey won gold in the varsity eight as a sophomore at the 2021 IRA Championships.
