Women’s Basketball to Participate in the Baha Mar Tournament
NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – The Utah women's basketball team is heading to the Bahamas. The Utes will be one of eight teams playing in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, which is held at Baha Mar, the leading resort destination in The Bahamas. The Championship will be played on Monday, Nov. 21, and Wednesday, Nov. 23.
"We are really looking forward to playing in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship," remarked head coach Lynne Roberts. "We know that Alabama and Ole Miss are tremendous programs, and we're excited about the challenge. Our team is ready to be tested like this in the non-conference season to prepare for another competitively elite Pac-12 conference season."
Five of the eight teams in the field were participants in last year's NCAA Tournament. Joining the Utes are Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Alabama, Wake Forest, Missouri, Dayton, and Ole Miss.
All eight games of the Pink Flamingo Championship will be broadcast on FloHoops, and the schedule is as follows:
Monday, Nov. 21
- Virginia Tech vs. Kentucky
- Utah vs. Alabama
- Wake Forest vs. Missouri
- Dayton vs. Ole Miss
Wednesday, Nov. 23
- Alabama vs. Wake Forest
- Missouri vs. Virginia Tech
- Kentucky vs. Dayton
- Ole Miss vs. Utah
Utah will open play on Monday, Nov. 21, against Alabama for the third time in program history at the Baha Mar Resort. They will wrap up play against Ole Miss on Wednesday, Nov. 23. This will be the sixth time in program history they have faced the Rebels.
Tip-off times will be released at a later date.
