Huskies Sign Avery Hobson and Lindsay Lopez

SEATTLE – UW softball head coach Heather Tarr has announced the additions of outfielder Avery Hobson and left-handed pitcher Lindsay Lopez.
 
Hobson joins the Huskies after two seasons at Oklahoma State. In her time with the Cowgirls, Hobson batted .302 with 29 hits, eight runs batted in, six stolen bases, two doubles and a home run. Hobson appeared in 84 games with 19 starts. She was a part of back-to-back College World Series appearances with OSU. In 2021, Hobson went 2-for-3 with a run scored against Florida State in the WCWS.
 
Lopez was named First Team All-Pac-12 in 2022 after leading the Arizona State pitching staff with 112.1 innings, while posting a 2.12 ERA. In addition, she led the team with three saves, three shutouts and nine complete games. Lopez also tallied 94 strikeouts on the season. In 2021, Lopez earned Third Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors after starting 19 games and making 33 appearances. She compiled a 16-7 record with 96 strikeouts and a team-best 2.88 ERA.
 
Lopez and Hobson join Ruby Meylan, Alana Johnson, Brooklyn Carter and Sydney Stewart as part of Washington's incoming class.
