Cross Country Announces 2022 Fall Schedule

LOS ANGELES – UCLA cross country has released its regular and postseason schedule for the upcoming 2022 season, as announced by Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Avery Anderson on Friday. The Bruins will compete in three regular season meets before the postseason begins in late October.
 
The Bruins begin competition on Thursday, Sept. 1 in a dual meet against UC San Diego in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.  UCLA will compete at the Dellinger Invitational on Sept. 23 in Eugene, Ore., running in the meet hosted by the University of Oregon for the third time in four years. The team wraps up with two regular season races on Saturday, Oct. 15. The squad will compete both at the 2022 Weis-Crockett Invitational in Stillwater, Okla., and at the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, Calif., in the final weekend of the regular season.
 
Postseason action begins on Friday, Oct. 28 at the Pac-12 Championships. The Bruins don't have to travel far from home for the conference competition, as USC will play host to the conference meet slated to take place at the UC Riverside Ag/Ops Course in Riverside, Calif. National postseason competition opens at the NCAA West Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 11 in Seattle, Wash. with the University of Washington hosting. The 2022 NCAA Championships will take place in Stillwater, Okla., with Oklahoma State hosting on Saturday, Nov. 19.

2021 XC Recap
 
The Bruins started the 2021 campaign strong with a pair of team victories over UC San Diego and UC Riverside at the Mammoth Tri-Meet in early September. The men's team had solid outings at the Highlander Invitational (Team 4th) and Bill Dellinger Invitational (Team 8th) before earning a sixth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships. The Bruin women secured an eighth-place finish at the Pac-12 postseason competition before placing 15th at the NCAA West Regional Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
 
Peter Herold finished as the Bruin's top runner at the NCAA West Regionals, earning All-Region honors for his performance on the day.
 
Nine Bruin men and 14 Bruin women were named to the Pac-12 Conference 2021 Fall Academic Honor Roll.
