10 Game Fall Schedule on Tap for Softball

Sep 7, 2022

SALT LAKE CITY – The 2022 Utah Softball Fall Ball schedule was announced on Wednesday and it will include 10 games, seven of which will take place at the Dumke Family Softball Stadium.

The Utes' first pitch of the fall will be thrown on Wednesday, Sept. 14, when Salt Lake CC visits for a 5 p.m. (MT) first pitch. Exactly one week later, the Utah Valley Wolverines will come to town for another 5 p.m. start, while Utah's third fall tilt will be a Sept. 28 rematch against SLCC, also scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The October schedule will begin with the team's only fall doubleheader, an Oct. 2 twin bill against Colorado State that will start at 10 a.m. The squad's first Red-White scrimmage is set for Thursday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m., followed by three games on the road at Utah Tech. After an Oct. 8 doubleheader with the Trailblazers, the Utes will take the field for one more bout on Sunday, Oct 9, returning home for their fall finale, another Red-White scrimmage on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Time is still to be determined for the final Red-White scrimmage.

This fall slate will give fans their first chance to see the 2023 edition of Utah softball, led by 16th year head coach Amy Hogue. Hogue will enter the spring just two victories away from becoming the first coach in program history to reach 400 wins.

Hogue and her staff have put together a roster that includes a pair of returners with all-region credentials in third baseman Julia Jimenez and utility player Halle Morris. They've also brought nine new faces, adding six high school signees as well as three transfers.
