Pac-12 Announces Women’s Basketball Conference Weekly Pairings

Sep 8, 2022

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference has released the weekly matchups and site designations for the league's 2022-23 women's basketball season. The University of Utah women's basketball team is coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance last year.

During the 2021-22 season, head coach Lynne Roberts led the Utes to a 21-win season for the first time since 2018-19, and the 29th 20-win season in program history. The Utes advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011 after making an incredible run in the Pac-12 tournament, winning three games in three nights to earn a spot in championship game for the first time in program history.

Utah was the highest-scoring team in the Pac-12 (17th NCAA), averaging 75.9 points per game, which is the fourth-highest figure in school history and the highest since 1980-81. Utah also led the Pac-12 in three-pointers made (7th NCAA; school-record 312), three-point attempts (7th NCAA; 876), assists per game (39th NCAA; 15.3), free throws made (18th NCAA; 469), and free throw attempts (43rd NCAA; 602).

Specific dates and times for each game will be announced after television selections are finalized. Some games may shift outside of the Conference's traditional Friday-Sunday windows pending those television selections and other factors.

The Pac-12 has more live linear television exposure than any other D1 conference in the country between broadcasts on the Pac-12 Networks and the ESPN family of networks.

The Utes open Pac-12 play at home on Dec. 14 when they host Colorado. Following the Colorado contest, Utah returns to non-conference action until the week of Dec. 29 to Jan. 2, when they hit the road to face Washington State and Washington.

Utah will be at home during the weeks of Jan. 13-15 (Arizona/Arizona State), Jan. 27-29 (UCLA/USC), Feb. 10-12 (Washington/Washington State), and Feb. 23-25 (California/Stanford). The Utes will square play Washington State, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, California, and Stanford, home and away this season, while only playing UCLA and USC at home and only facing Oregon and Oregon State on the road.

The 2023 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament, presented by New York Life, is scheduled for March 1-5 at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Over the last seven seasons, the Pac-12 leads all conferences in Final Four appearances (7), NCAA Tournament wins (76), NCAA Tournament winning percentage (.685), regular-season, nonconference winning percentage (.793) and WBCA All-Americans (15).
