Sep 9, 2022

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – California beach volleyball freshman Jenna Colligan was named a 2022 AVCA Junior Beach Second Team All-American.

Colligan is on campus at Cal, but hails Manhattan Beach where she attended Mira Costa HS and played for Elite Beach Volleyball Club, where she was coached by Cal Athletics Hall of Fame member Holly McPeak.

"Jenna is one the hardest working and mindful athletes on the beach. She is an honor roll student, who never backs down from an academic challenge or athletic goal," McPeak said. "Jenna has been balancing AP classes and pushing her game to get ready to compete at Cal and has finished in the top group in every big tournament. I can't wait to see what Jenna does at the collegiate level as a relentless defender with a big arm."

She's been a member of the USAV High Performance A1 team since 2018. This past year she finished second at the 2022 AVP Manhattan Beach Gold and third at the 2022 AVP National Championship. She also claimed third-place finishes at the AAU Nationals and the USAV World Championship Trials.

Previously, Colligan won the ISF U16 World Championship with her partner Molly Trodd in Sicily, Italy, they defeated Brazil in the championship match as they did not drop a set. Colligan also won the 2019 National College Recruiting Showcase 16U Gold division.

Colligan also played for the Mira Costa HS Beach team, as she won state championships in 2019 and 2021, and has not lost a match in her high school career, going undefeated in 2019, 2020 and 2021. In the classroom, Colligan has been a member of the honor roll every semester. She's also a National Merit Commended Scholar and a member of the National Honors Society.
