SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Behind a pair of career-best rounds on Saturday, Arizona Men's Golf carded a 12-under round in the second round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. Senior Chase Sienkiewicz matched his career low with a round of 65, which included five birdies after the turn. His 5-under performance tied for the fourth lowest round of the day. Sophomore Jackson Norwich fired a 67 on Saturday at Mirabel Golf Club that also marked the best round of his collegiate career.

"We wanted to make the necessary adjustments to post better scores on Saturday, and we were able to do that," said head coach Jim Anderson. "Our scores were eight shots better today on the back nine compared to yesterday, which is a key highlight of our day. Hats off to Chase and Jackson on their career rounds, and I am very proud of how all our guys performed today. Now it's just a matter of continuing to improve and shoot even better scores in tomorrow's final round."

The Wildcats were dialed in on Mirabel Golf Club's par 4's as they amassed 12 on those holes on Saturday to rise to fifth in par-4 scoring for the tournament.

Entering Sunday's finale, junior Sam Sommerhauser is the top Wildcat on the individual leaderboards in a tie for ninth at 8-under. Sienkiewicz and Chaz Aurilia round out the Arizona golfers in the top 30 after the first two rounds.

The three teams immediately ahead of Arizona are separated by three strokes going into the final round. The Cats will tee off at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday alongside Washington and Georgia Tech.
