Men’s Tennis Wraps Up First Fall Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Utah men's tennis team concluded the final day of the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains Sunday afternoon. The team played in consolidation brackets both for doubles and singles play, wrapping up the weekend of play.

Bruno Krenn and Mateo Julio played in the consolidation round for doubles this morning defeating the Air Force duo consisting of Mascagni/Kersten 6-3, awarding the Utah men with a finishing victory.
In singles play, Krenn retired from his Group A consolidation match against Nick Vroman from USAFA, giving the opponent the win.

In Group C, both Utes also dropped matches. Charlie Spina lost to Henry Lyum from New Mexico State 6-0, 6-3. Dylan Applegate lost to host opponent Jack Brown 6-2, 6-4.

The Utes will head home to prepare for a double-header tournament weekend. The squad will host the first fall invite and send players to compete at the Dar Walters Invitational in Boise.
