UCLA in 11th after Day One at Folds of Honor

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The UCLA men's golf team shot a 21-over 309 to put itself in 11th place after round one at the Folds of Honor Collegiate on American Dunes Golf Course Monday.
 
Kyle An, Pablo Ereño and Lincoln Melcher, who made his collegiate debut today, are each tied for 45th after shooting a 5-over 77 in their respective rounds.
 
Florida State was the only team to finish under par on day one, finishing 1-under 287 and 22 strokes ahead of the Bruins. Three Seminoles – Brett Roberts (T-2nd), Cole Anderson and Luke Clanton (T-4th) sit within the top five on the individual leader board.
 
Liberty's Jonathan Yaun owns a one-stroke lead on the field of 90 at 3-under.
 
Rounding out UCLA's counting scores was sophomore Evan Chien, who is tied for 57th, with a 6-over 77. Chien recorded an eagle on the par-5 18th.
 
Mason Greene is tied for 69th after a 9-over 81.
 
In total, the Bruins recorded 10 birdies, 20 bogeys, seven double bogeys and two triples.
