No. 2 Washington Opens Pac-12 Play At San Diego State

SEATTLE – The No. Washington men's soccer team hits the road for the start of conference play at San Diego State. Kickoff from Snapdragon Stadium is set for Thursday night at 7 p.m. and airing on Aztec Digital Network.
 
The Huskies are undefeated on the season with a record of 7-0-1 and a 2-0-0 mark on the road.
 
UW-SAN DIEGO STATE HISTORY
Washington leads the all-time series 24-7-8 over San Diego State. The Huskies have a two match winning streak over the Aztecs, coming away with a 1-0 win in both meetings last season.
 
HUSKIES IN THE RANKINGS
In the national polls, the Huskies rank second in all three polls – College Soccer News, TopDrawerSoccer and United Soccer Coaches.
 
The Huskies are all over the place in the NCAA stats rankings, highlighted by Ilijah Paul leading the nation with eight goals.
 
Multiple Huskies lead the conference in the rankings. Lucas Meek and Chris Meyers are the Pac-12 leaders in assists per game (0.71) and total assists (5). Meek and Paul have two game-winning goals.
 
Paul leads in goals per game (1.14), points per game (2.43), shot accuracy (0.684) shots on goal per game (1.86), total goals (8) and total points (17).
 
SAN DIEGO STATE SCOUTING REPORT
The Aztecs are 3-4-2 on the season with a 0-1-1 mark in conference play.
 
CJ Fodrey and Elias Katsaros lead the team with three goals on the year, while Fodrey leads the way with eight points. Katsaros was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Sept. 12 after a two goal performance in San Diego State's 2-1 win over No. 9 Denver.
 
In the Pac-12 preseason poll, SDSU was tabbed fifth in the conference.
 
INDIVIDUAL RECOGNITION
Lucas Meek was named TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week following eight points over two matches against Seattle U and Grand Canyon. The senior midfielder notched three goals and two assists - which included his third career brace.
 
UP NEXT
Washington continues the conference-opening swing at No. 21 UCLA on Oct. 2. The Huskies returns home on Oct. 6 against Stanford.
