Wildcats Head to ITA All-Americans, Ziverts Competes in Tiburon Pro Challenger

TUCSON, Ariz. - Four Wildcats will represent Arizona in the ITA All-American Championships this week in Tulsa, Okla: No. 32 Jonas Ziverts, No. 46 Gustaf Strom, No. 77 Herman Hoeyeraal and No. 86 Colton Smith. This marks Ziverts' third appearance in the tournament and the second for each of the other three Cats. 

Three Monday morning matches will kickoff the qualifying singles draw for Arizona. Fourth-seeded Strom takes on Jesper Klov-Nilsson (Oregon), Smith [17-32 seed] competes against Peter Murphy (UNC) and Hoeyeraal, also seeded between 17-32, battles No. 118 Ronan Jachuck (Harvard). 

Strom and Smith compete against Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy (Ohio State) in the first round of the qualifying doubles draw. The qualifying draw takes place from Monday, Oct. 3 through Tuesday, Oct. 4. 

Ziverts is set to compete in both the main singles and doubles draws of the tournament which runs Oct. 5-9. He will join the team in Tulsa after his Wildcard appearance at the Tiburon Pro Challenger in San Francisco. He was selected to compete in the ATP tournament after his stellar runner-up performance at the Battle in the Bay Classic. Ziverts returns to the Golden State for a first round match against Ernesto Escobedo (USA), who ranks No. 200 in ATP singles.

Doubles:

• Monday, Oct. 3 at 1:30 p.m. (CDT) - Strom/Smith vs. Kingsley/Tracy (Ohio State)
