USC Rowing Opens 2022-23 Season At Head of the Charles

LOS ANGELES — USC women's rowing will send four boats to compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 22-23). The Women of Troy will race in the Women's Club Eight, the Women's Alumnae Eight, and will enter two boats the Women's Championship Eight; the 1V8+ and the 2V8+.
 
In 2021, USC's Women's Club Eight won the Nikolay Kurmakov Memorial Trophy with a time of 16:32.227. USC's Women's Championship Eight finished 10th out of 19 boats last year. USC will enter a boat into the Alumnae Eight event for the first time.
 
USC's Women's Alumnae Eight is set to start at 11:05 a.m. ET (8:05 a.m. PT) on Saturday, Oct. 22. The Trojans will compete against Fat Cat, Boola Boola, Ever Green, UW Alum, Stanford Alum, Brown, Pennsylvania, Boola Boola JV, Stanford Alum JV, BMA, Radcliffe Alumnae, XBoat, Brown JV, Rhode Island, NU Alumni, Colgate Alumni, NU Alumni JV, Connecticut, DeWolfe, Friends of WPI, DeWolfe JV, Radcliffe Alumnae, King's Crown, Penn State, Alabama Alum, ILRA Alumni, Saratoga, Georgetown, Fairfield Beach, Colby College, Rutgers Alumnae, Thunder Crew, Holy Cross Alumni, Tyrian, Wesleyan, Wisco Alums, Toronto Alum, GVSU Alum, Radcliffe Alumnae JV, Temple, Bucknell, UM Alumni, Middlebury Alum, and Amherst Alumni. 
 
The Trojans' Women's Club Eight will hit the water at 1:24 p.m. ET (10:24 a.m. PT) on Saturday. USC will face eights from Yale, Georgetown, Radcliffe, MIT, Riverside, Delaware, Dartmouth, BU Women, San Diego, Boston College, Fordham, UMass, Colgate, Eastern Michigan, St. Josephs, MIT JV, Marist, Northeastern University, Potomac, Fairfield, Tufts University, MITRC, Shannon, Avalon, Skidmore, Yale Grad Crew, Baltimore, Kansas, Drexel, HBS Crew, Riverfront Recapture, Rowing in Color, Mid-Hudson, BIAC, JL, Old Dominion, Bryant University, Boston College, and Columbia University. 
 
USC's Women's Championship Eights race is set to begin at 2:11 p.m. ET (11:11 a.m. PT) on Sunday (Oct. 23). The Women of Troy will race against boats from Princeton, Yale, Brown University, Yale JV, Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Brown University, Boston University, Princeton JV, Tennessee, Radcliffe, Dartmouth, Northeastern University, Cornell University, Danish Rowing Center, British Columbia, Minerva, Leander, Ukraine, Pennsylvania JV, Tennessee JV, Clemson, Columbia, Syracuse JV, Navy, Washington, and Temple. 

Since 1965, the Head of Charles Regatta has brought together the world's best crews for two days of intense competition in 55 different events on the Charles River. The regatta welcomes more than 11,000 athletes and 400,000 spectators each year.
