2023 USC Baseball Schedule Announced

Dec 12, 2022

LOS ANGELES – Head Coach Andy Stankeiwicz announced the 2023 USC baseball schedule this week, with the Trojans opening the season at home on February 17 against Marist.

The 56-game schedule features 36 home games and 20 road games, with a home series against Auburn highlighting the non-conference slate and a home series against UCLA highlighting conference action.

NON-CONFERENCE SERIES

USC's season opening series against Marist (Feb. 17-19) will be followed by a home series against Auburn (Feb. 24-26). Later in the season, San Diego State will also be coming to Dedeaux Field April 6-8 when the Trojans have a break in Pac-12 play.

USC will also take part in hosting the Southern California College Baseball Classic along with UCLA this year, hosting both Sacramento State (March 3) and Tulane (March 4) before playing at UCLA on March 5. That March 5th game against the Bruins will be a non-conference contest at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

NON-CONFERENCE MIDWEEKS

The Trojans have 14 non-conference midweek contests on the schedule, with nine at home and five on the road. USC will host single home games against UC Irvine (Feb. 21), UC Riverside (March 1), Nevada (March 8), Seattle (March 22), LMU (April 4), Cal State Fullerton (April 11), CSUN (April 18), UC San Diego (April 25) and Cal State Bakersfield (May 9).

The Trojans will be on the road for single games against Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 28), Cal Poly (March 15), UC Irvine (March 28), Long Beach State (May 2) and LMU (May 16).

PAC-12 HOME SLATE

USC will begin Pac-12 play at home against defending Pac-12 champs Stanford March 10-12, and then host Washington State (March 24-26), UCLA (April 21-23), Oregon (May 5-7) and Arizona State (May 12-14).

PAC-12 ROAD SLATE

The Trojans' five Pac-12 road series will be at Cal (March 17-19), Utah (March 31-April 2), Oregon State (April 14-16), Washington (April 28-30) and Arizona (May 18-20). The games in Tucson against Arizona will be the final of the regular season.

PAC-12 TOURNAMENT

The Pac-12 Baseball Tournament is scheduled for May 23-27 at Scottsdale Stadium (Arizona). After last season's inaugural conference tournament, the field will be increased to nine teams and the format will change to pool play instead of double elimination. Pool play will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with three games per day.  Each pool will play a round-robin. The three pool winners will advance to the Friday single-elimination semifinals along with one Wild Card team.  The Wild Card will be determined by the best record of the non-advancing teams.  Any tiebreaker will be awarded to the highest seeded team.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE

The Trojans have six teams on the 2023 slate that made the NCAA Tournament last season and two that made the College World Series. Five Pac-12 teams made the postseason last year (Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA), with both Stanford and Oregon State hosting regionals. Auburn also made the tournament last year, advancing all the way to the College World Series along with Stanford.

BROADCAST SCHEDULE

The Pac-12 Network broadcast schedule will be released in the next few weeks. All USC home games not broadcast on the Pac-12 Network will be streamed live via Pac-12+.

A NEW ERA

USC baseball embarks on a new era as the program heads into its first season under Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz. Stankiewicz was hired this past July after he spent the last 11 years at Grand Canyon. He brings with him a record of 341-239-2 as a skipper and has compiled a staff that has been to a combined 15 College World Series as either a player or coach. Travis Jewett is USC's hitting coach, Trojan great Seth Etherton is the USC pitching coach, Andy Jenkins is the volunteer assistant and Sergio Brown is the Director of Player Development for the Trojans.
