NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – In a back-and-forth match, No. 6 Stanford came up short at CSUN, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 18-25, 13-15, Friday, at Premier America Credit Union Arena.

Playing in its third five-set match of the season, Stanford (6-2) hit .279 as a team and registered 10.0 blocks, seven aces and a season-high 52 digs. CSUN (5-5) hit .273 and had 6.0 blocks, six aces and 61 digs.

Outside hitter Will Rottman posted his third 20+ kill match of the season, finishing with 21 on a .278 attack percentage, a season-high eight digs, three blocks and two aces.
 

Setter Nathan Lietzke controlled the offense with 47 assists and notched his second double-double of the year with a season-high 11 digs. Libero Justin Lui anchored the defense with a team-best 14 digs and had zero reception errors on 31 attempts.
 

For the match, there were 43 ties scores and 16 leads changes, including 19 and six, respectively, in the second set.

Middle blocker Ethan Hill hit .600 with 10 kills and a match-high six blocks - two of which were solo. Opposite Theo Snoey turned in 13 kills on .290 hitting, five digs, two aces and a block.

Outside hitter Kevin Lamp recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. Middle blocker Nathaniel Gates added four blocks, two kills, two digs and an ace.
 

CSUN was led by Kyle Hobus' 21 kills, eight digs and three blocks, while Griffin Walters chipped in with 17 kills on .300 hitting, eight digs and two aces. Libero Taylan Cook had a match-high 20 digs.

It's a quick turnaround for the Cardinal as it faces The Master's University in Santa Clarita on Saturday at 1 p.m.
