SAN FRANCISCO - Pac-12 Men's Basketball landed a pair of No. 2 seeds - the fifth time in league history with multiple teams seeded No. 2 or better - as part of four bids to the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday. Conference tournament champion ARIZONA and regular-season champion UCLA were both rewarded with No. 2 seeds and are joined in the field by No. 10 seed USC and No. 11 seed ARIZONA STATE.

The Conference last had multiple teams seeded No. 2 or better in 2001 (#1 Stanford, #2 Arizona) and only four prior times (2001, 2000, 1992, 1981) since tournament seeding began in 1979.

It also marks the seventh time in the past 10 postseasons that the Pac-12 landed four-or-more teams in the Big Dance.

In total, seven Pac-12 programs will participate in the postseason - the most for the league since 2018 (3 NCAA/5 NIT) - with four NCAA berths (Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, USC) and three NIT bids (Colorado, Oregon, Washington State).

West Region (T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nev.)
No. 2 UCLA vs. No. 15 UNC Asheville - Sacramento, Calif. - Thurs., March 16 - 7:05 p.m. PT (truTV)
No. 6 TCU vs. No. 11 ARIZONA STATE/Nevada - Denver, Colo. - Fri., March 17 - 7:05 p.m. PT (truTV)

  • UCLA (29-5) was the No. 5 overall national seed to earn the coveted No. 2 seed slot in the West Region to be played in the familiar confines of T-Mobile Arena for the debut of NCAA Tournament competition in Las Vegas. The Bruins will open play Friday in Sacramento, Calif., against No. 15 UNC Asheville, with the winner advancing to face No. 7 Northwestern or No. 10 Boise State.
    • It marks the 12th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for head coach Mick Cronin dating to 2011 and his tenure at Cincinnati.

  • ARIZONA STATE (22-12) was also placed in the West Region, opening play against fellow No. 11 seed Nevada in the First Four in Dayton, Ohio on Wed., March 15 (6:10 p.m. PT, truTV). Should the Sun Devils advance, they will travel to Denver, Colo., to face No. 6 TCU on Friday, with that winner playing either No. 3 Gonzaga or No. 14 Grand Canyon.
    • It marks ASU's third NCAA Tournament appearance under Bobby Hurley, second only to Ned Wulk's program-best eight trips from 1958-81.

South Region (KFC Yum! Center, Louisville, Ky.)
No. 2 ARIZONA vs. No. 15 Princeton - Sacramento, Calif. - Thurs., March 16 - 1:10 p.m. PT (TNT)

  • ARIZONA (28-6) was the No. 7 overall national seed and slotted into the South Region. The Wildcats will tip off action Thursday in Sacramento against No. 15 Princeton, with the winner advancing to face No. 7 Missouri or No. 10 Utah State.
    • Head coach Tommy Lloyd has led the Wildcats to back-to-back Pac-12 Tournament titles and 61 victories so far in Tucson, the most wins in the first two seasons of a coaching tenure in NCAA Division I men's history.

East Region (Madison Square Garden, New York, N.Y.)
No. 7 Michigan State vs. No. 10 USC - Columbus, Ohio - Fri., March 17 - 9:15 a.m. PT (CBS)

  • USC (22-10), which garnered its third consecutive NCAA berth, was placed in the East Region and will face No. 7 Michigan State in the First Round in Columbus, Ohio on Friday. The Trojans would face No. 2 Marquette or No. 15 Vermont in the Second Round.
    • It extends head coach Andy Enfield's program-record of NCAA bids to five, and is the sixth of his career (2013 - FGCU).

Additionally, three teams received berths in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), which for the first time will play its semifinals and championship at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas March 28 and 30. The three NIT bids matched the most of any league along with the Big Ten.

  • By virtue of North Carolina declining an NIT bid, OREGON (19-14) climbed to a No. 1 seed where it will welcome UC Irvine on Wed., March 12 (8:00 p.m. PT, ESPN2) seeking to avenge an earlier loss to the Anteaters. The winner advances to face No. 4 Florida or UCF.
    • It marks the Ducks' 12th consecutive postseason bid under head coach Dana Altman (7 NCAA, 4 NIT, 1 CBI).
  • COLORADO (17-16) garnered a No. 3 seed and will host Seton Hall on Tues., March 11 (8:00 p.m. PT, ESPN2) - the winner to face No. 3 New Mexico or Utah Valley.
    • It is the Buffaloes' 11th postseason appearance (5 NCAA, 5 NIT, 1 CBI) in 13 seasons under head coach Tad Boyle.
  • WASHINGTON STATE (17-16), which reached the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden in 2022, earned a No. 4 seed and will host Eastern Washington, a team it defeated by 26 points earlier this season, on Tues., March 11 (8:00 p.m. PT, ESPNU), with the winner advancing to face either No. 1 Oklahoma State or Youngstown State.
    • It is head coach Kyle Smith's sixth career postseason berth (2 NIT, 2 CBI, 2 CIT).
