USC's Jackson Rivera Shares Pac-12 Men's Golfer Of The Month Honor

Mar 21, 2023
Jackson Rivera was named one of three Pac-12 Men's Golfers of the Week.

USC sophomore Jackson Rivera earned his first Pac-12 Conference honor following his co-medalist honor last weekend, tabbed as one of three Pac-12 Men's Golfers of the Week on Tuesday (March 21).

Rivera was co-champion of the Arizona N.I.T. at Tucson Omni National on Saturday at 13-under 203 (69-67-67), tying for first with Wildcat Zach Pollo. Pollo was also named Pac-12 Golfer of the Week along with Oregon's Owen Avrit, who won the two-round Bandon Dunes at 4-under.

The win is Rivera's second first-place finish this season. He was the only player in the tournament to break 70 each day.

For Rivera, the 13-under showing tied for the 12th-lowest 54-hole total in almost three decades of Trojan golf. It also marked his first collegiate effort registering all three rounds in the 60s in one event.

The last Trojan better than Rivera over 54 holes was All-American and current PGA rookie Justin Suh, who fired a 16-under at the same event in 2019.
