2023 NCAA Beach Volleyball Bracket

SAN FRANCISCO - Four Pac-12 beach volleyball teams will compete in the 17-team field for the 2023 NCAA Championship to be held May 5-7 in Gulf Shores, Ala.

This marks the fouth time the Pac-12 has sent at least three teams to the NCAA postseason, the first coming in the event's debut in 2016 (UCLA, USC, Arizona), the second in 2021 (UCLA, USC, Stanford) and the third last year in 2022 (UCLA, USC, Stanford, California). The Pac-12's four entrants into the field is tied with the CCSA for the most in the country. The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association also has four programs earn bids (TCU, Florida State, LSU, Grand Canyon). Either UCLA (2018, 2019) or USC (2016, 2017, 2021, 2022) has won every national crown since becoming an NCAA-sponsored sport.

Pac-12 champion UCLA earned the top overall seed, while rival and 2022 NCAA national champion USC followed as the No. 3 seed. The Bruins will face either 16th-seeded UT Martin or 17th-seeded A&M-Corpus Christi and the Trojans drew 14th-seeded Georgia State in their opening matches on Wednesday.

CALIFORNIA captured the eighth seed for its third NCAA appearance and will open against ninth seed Long Beach State. STANFORD earned the No. 10 seed for its second NCAA appearance and will compete against seventh-seeded Grand Canyon to kick off its championship run.

The event will be held May 5-7, in Gulf Shores, Ala., hosted by the City of Gulf Shores, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Orange Beach Sports Commission. It will be televised live by ESPN networks, with ESPNU providing live coverage on Friday, May 5 at 7 a.m. PT. Live coverage will continue Saturday, May 6 on ESPN2, starting at 7 a.m. PT. The championship dual will air on ESPN2 Sunday, May 7, at 9 a.m. PT.
