Track and Field lands 10 Wildcats on CSC Academic All-District Team
TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Track and Field program has the honor of celebrating 10 student-athletes selected College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District in 2023, as announced by the organization today.
The Wildcats saw 11 athletes punch their ticket to the NCAA Finals last week during the first round of the NCAA West Regionals. Talie Bonds, Jordan Geist, Alexa Porpaczy, and Jared O'Riley have been honored by CSC for their work in the classroom. They are heading to Austin, Texas to compete for a national championship at the Outdoor Track and Field Finals.
Joining their teammates on the CSC All-District team are Alisa Lyesina, Mackenna Orie, Cade Russo, Ian Sanchez Lopez, Xahria Santiago, and Jeffrey Sillers.
To be named to the All-District Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and competed in at least 50% of their team's competitions during the year. They must have additionally completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution.
