Apr 1, 2024

SEATTLE – Washington softball infielder Rylee Holtorf has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, while pitcher Sidne Peters has been tabbed Freshman of the Week, the conference announced today.

The honor is the first Pac-12 weekly honors for both Holtorf and Peters. This season, the Huskies have earned five conference awards. Jillian Celis was named Player of the Week following the Jane Sanders Classic, Jadyn Glab was tabbed Pac-12 Freshman of the Week to begin the season and Ruby Meylan was named Pitcher of the Week during week two.

Holtorf ended the weekend just like she started – with a home run. In game one, she led off the game with her fourth homer of the season before hitting the walk-off solo home run in the ninth inning in game three.

This season, Holtorf is batting .355 with six doubles, two triples, five home runs, 12 RBI and 14 walks. Holtorf's .624 slugging percentage is 14th in the conference.

Peters recorded a pair of wins to help the Huskies sweep Oregon State. In 2.2 innings, Peters had five strikeouts and combined for the game three extra innings shutout with Meylan. She retired nine of 11 batters faced in game one with four strikeouts.

This season, Peters holds a 5-0 record in 36.2 innings with 49 strikeouts and 15 appearances. Peters is 17th nationally in strikeouts per seven innings (9.40) which is second-most in the conference behind Stanford's NiJaree Canady.
