Ducks Head to Arizona for Four Games

THIS WEEK
The Ducks visit the desert for a nonconference game at Grand Canyon on Wednesday before a three-game series in Tucson against Arizona that begins on Friday. The GCU game will be on ESPN+, while Pac-12 Networks will carry the Arizona series.

CARLSON AMONG PAC-12 LEADERS
Ariel Carlson is third in the conference in home runs (10) and second in RBI (38). She's also fifth in slugging percentage (.708) and doubles (9) and sixth in steals (11).

DUCKS WIN 4 OF 5 PAC-12 SERIES
Oregon has won four of its first five Pac-12 series for the first time since 2018. The Ducks swept Arizona State and collected 2-1 series wins versus California, Utah and Washington.

14 - 14 of Oregon's 18 runs in the series with Washington were scored with two outs, including the winning runs in games 2 & 3.

DUCKS WIN UW SERIES FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2018
Oregon won the final two games against Washington to win that series two games to one. Vallery Wong hit two homers, while Hanna Delgado and Ariel Carlson also homered in game two. Morgan Scott pitched the final 2.1 innings for the save as the Ducks won 9-8. In the finale, Oregon scored six two-out runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 6-4 win. Alyssa Daniell had a three-run double that tied the game at 3-3, Emma Kauf doubled Daniell in for a 4-3 lead and Katie Flannery hit her first home run at Jane Sanders Stadium to make it 6-3. Scott got the final five outs for her second save in as many days.

SCOTT CLIMBS SAVES LIST
With two saves in the Washington series, Morgan Scott now has 10 saves in her career, which is tied for fourth on the UO career list. She's just one save out of second.

SCOTT NAMED PAC-12 POTW
For her effort against Arizona State, including a complete game win, a save and a 0.00 ERA, Morgan Scott was named Pac-12 pitcher of the week. Over the three games, she threw 9.1 innings, striking out seven and walking none.

ELITE LEVEL DEFENSE
A hallmark of coach Melyssa Lombardi's program, Oregon is again one of the best defensive teams in the nation. The Ducks are 19th nationally and fifth in the Pac-12 and in fielding percentage (.975). Two years ago (2022), Oregon led the Pac-12 and ranked 10th nationally with a .977 fielding percentage. That mark tied the program record set the year before (2021). 

GLOVE WORK
Oregon committed two errors in the season opener against Maryland and then had a stretch of 23 games committing one error or less. The streak ended when the Ducks had two errors March 16 at Utah. Oregon has 18 error-free games, 12 single-error games, four two error games and one three-error game so far in 2024.

CARLSON AMONG PAC-12 LEADERS
Ariel Carlson is now second in the Pac-12 lead with 38. Carlson also ranks third in the Pac-12 in home runs (10) and fifth in slugging percentage (.708). She's also sixth in stolen bases with 11, making her the only player in the conference with 10 or more home runs and steals (and one of only nine players nationally). She's 16-for-36 (.348) in league games with six home runs and 14 RBI. She's also been walked seven times and has five stolen bases. Carlson recently entered the UO career top 10 in home runs and is currently fifth with 38. 

LUSCHAR LEADING OFF
Kai Luschar is second in the Pac-12 in steals (19) and is fourth in hits (52), third in average (.433) and fourth in on-base percentage (.496). Nationally, she's 29th in steals, 25th in hits.
