Catherine Park Drafted to Team USA for Upcoming Arnold Palmer Cup

Apr 23, 2024

LOS ANGELES - USC women's golf sophomore Catherine Park was selected to Team USA for the upcoming Arnold Palmer Cup at the Lahinch Golf Club, the Golf Channel announced Tuesday, Apr. 23.

This year's Palmer Cup — which features Ryder Cup-style competition with men's and women's collegiate golfers from the United States competing against their International counterparts, is set for July 5-7 at the Lahinch Golf Club in Dough, Lahinch, Ireland.

Park has been on a tear recently. She has shot up the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings) and is now the No. 24 player in the world. The sophomore has been excelling in the collegiate game, as she recently picked up her second win this season at the Silverado Showdown. Today marks the final day of the Pac-12 Championships, as Park heads into it with a four stroke lead at ten under par.

The sophomore leads USC in stroke average (71.05), rounds in the 60s (six), rounds of par or better (17), rounds under par (six), top ten finishes (five), and top 25 finishes (seven) in eight stroke play tournaments.

Park most recently made her debut at the Augusta National Women's Amateur. The sophomore successfully made it through the cut in her first appearance at the ANWA.

USC's Amari Avery has appeared twice on the U.S. side in 2023 and 2022. Allisen Corpuz played in the 2021 edition and in 2020, along with fellow Trojans Alyaa Abdulghany and Gabriela Ruffels, who were members of the international side. LPGA rookie Malia Nam joined Jennifer Chang on the U.S. team in 2019.
