Lowe Earns Win 100th Win as No. 19 Arizona Takes Down No. 9 UCLA

LOS ANGELES – The No. 19 Wildcats beat the No. 9 Bruins, 8-4, to even the series and secure head coach Caitlin Lowe's 100th career victory on Saturday.
 
Arizona out-hit UCLA with 13 hits and tallied eight RBI. Three Wildcats – Dakota Kennedy, Emily Schepp, and Allie Skaggs – homered in the game to upset UCLA. Skaggs led the team with four RBI and went 3-for-4 at the plate. Four other Cats – Kaiah Altmeyer, Olivia DiNardo, Kennedy, and Schepp – tallied two hits each.
 
After two scoreless innings from both teams, Skaggs hit a three-run home run – her 13th homer of the season – to give Arizona a 3-0 lead in the top of the third. In the bottom of the inning, UCLA responded with a three-run home run to tie the game and took a one-run lead on an RBI double.
 
Schepp tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fourth with a solo home run – her fifth of the year.
 
The Wildcats exploded for four runs in the sixth to take an 8-4 lead over the Bruins. With two outs, Kennedy hit a three-run home run to give Arizona the lead. Skaggs then singled up the middle to score Regan Shockey from second base to round out the inning.
 
Brooke Mannon earned the win after pitching the final 3.0 innings and allowing just one hit to improve to 5-2. Aissa Silva went 2.2 innings, striking out just one batter and allowed four runs to score. Miranda Stoddard entered in the third in relief of Silva. Stoddard pitched 1.1 innings and held UCLA scoreless on one hit.
