May 2, 2024

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's tennis senior Quinn Vandecasteele was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team today and teammate Vlad Breazu made the second team. Matthew Burton and David Cierny earned honorable mention.

Vandecasteele won 10 matches at the No.1 singles spot for the Ducks this season, with two wins over ranked opponents. The 2023 second team All-Pac-12 honoree teamed up with Matther Burton in doubles and the duo led the team with a 14-8 record on court one. Vandecasteele helped the Ducks secure wins over Purdue, Nebraska, Washington, USC, and UCLA to name a few. He and Burton won seven of their final nine matches of the season in doubles. The first team nod is the first for a UO player since Thomas Laurent in 2019.

Breazu earns his first all-conference honors in just his second season on campus. Spending most of the season on court three, Breazu amassed an 11-10 record and secured numerous match-clinching points for the Ducks. He went 8-1 in doubles, teaming up with Avi Shugar as a force on court three.

Burton went 11-11 in singles as a freshman at Oregon. He picked up wins against ASU, UCLA, Utah, Cal and Washington in conference play. Burton and Vandecasteele also anchored the doubles lineup with a 14-8 record on the first court. Cierny spent most of the season at the No. 2 spot and picked up five wins in both singles and doubles, teaming up with Ray Lo.
