Duck Trio Earns Pac-12 Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's golf trio of Eric Doyle, Greg Solhaug and Nate Stember were each named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention as the conference announced its annual postseason awards on Thursday morning.
 
Honorable mention honors are awarded to student-athletes who collected two-or-more coach votes or placed in the top 10 of last week's Pac-12 Championships. The conference award is the third for Stember, second for Solhaug and first for Doyle in their respective careers.
 
Stember has had the best season of his five-year Oregon career, leading Oregon with a 70.87 average and tying his career mark with six top-20 finishes. At the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in February, Stember carded a career-best 13 under (203) which led the Ducks as they tied the third-lowest tournament to par in program history at 33 under. Stember logged back-to-back top-10 finishes in the fall, tying for third at the Ben Hogan Invitational before tying for sixth at the Cal Poly Invitational a few weeks later.
 
Solhaug leads Oregon with four top-10 finishes this season and is second on the team with a scoring average of 71.03. Solhaug logged back-to-back top-10 finishes in the fall at the Ben Hogan Invitational (T-7th) and Cal Poly Invitational (T-3rd) and was the Ducks' top finisher at the Pac-12 Championships where he finished fifth. The Norwegian's best round of the year came at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate when he fired a 6-under 66 in the final round, matching the best round of his career.
 
After cracking Oregon's starting lineup just once prior to the Pac-12 Championships, Doyle turned in an impressive performance at the conference tournament as he shot four counting rounds and finished 10th with a 7-over 291. It marked the first top-10 finish of the season for Doyle, who is shooting a career-best 72.41 per round.
 
The No. 24 Ducks were recently selected as the No. 4 seed at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, which will be played May 13-15 at the University Club.
