SALT LAKE CITY – No. 9 Washington fell 2-1 in game two against Utah on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies move to 31-12 (13-10 Pac-12) on the season.

Lindsay Lopez (10-3) got the start, going 1.1 innings with three hits and two runs allowed. Sidne Peters came on in relief, giving up only two hits and a walk with no runs allowed in 4.2 innings.

Utah got on the board first with a run in the first and a run in the second for the 2-0 advantage.

Washington answered back with a leadoff single by Rylee Holtorf. Sydney Stewart followed with a double to bring in Holtorf to make it a one run game.

Stewart tied the program record for most doubles in a game with three in the fifth inning. The feat has been done five times before in program history, last by Morganne Flores against Oregon in 2017.

Peters and the Husky defense retired the final 12 Utah batters.

The Huskies and Utes square off in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. PT and airing on Pac-12 Mountain.
