Trojans Fall at Home to Cal, 6-3

IRVINE, Calif. – The USC baseball team dropped its series finale with California on Sunday afternoon at Great Park, falling 6-3 to the Golden Bears.
 
USC Falls to 22-25 overall with the loss and 12-11 in Pac-12 play. The Golden Bears improve to 28-17 overall and 14-13 in conference action.
 
For the second straight day, USC had an early lead, as the Trojans scored a pair of runs in the first inning. The advantage lasted until the fourth, when Cal put up four runs to go ahead for good. USC got one back in the sixth, but that was it for the Trojan rally. The Bears added two in the eighth.
 
Jacob Galloway, Ethan Hedges and Andrew Lamb had the three RBI on the day for USC. Ryan Jackson collected two hits. Peyton Schulze had the big day for Cal, driving in three runs on two hits.
 
The Trojans put a pair of runners on in the bottom of the ninth, but left them stranded. USC left eight runners on base in the game.
