Bruins Finish Fourth at Regionals, Advance to NCAA Championships

May 8, 2024

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 4 UCLA women's golf team finished fourth overall at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional on Tuesday, clinching a spot in the NCAA Championships May 17-22 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The Bruins finished +12 over for the tournament to take fourth place, while Zoe Antoinette Campos earned a share of the individual title, finishing at six-under for the week.

Arkansas finished first in the region on the team side with an even-par score over the course of the three-day event.

With the win, Campos becomes the first Bruin to medal at regionals since Emma Spitz did in 2021 and the 10th Bruin to medal overall at regionals in school history. As a team, UCLA has advanced to the NCAA Championships in five of the last six seasons.

Campos moves into a tie for fourth in career wins in school history (6), and now has four wins on the season. With the win, Campos ties the all-time record for single-season wins.

Campos, a junior from Valencia, California, has recorded 19 rounds under par this season, which is tied for fourth all-time in a single season. The UCLA single-season record for rounds under par is 20, set by Lilia Vu, Bronte Law and Alison Lee.

On a day where all but six athletes shot over par on Wednesday, Campos finished +1 on the day. She sank two crucial birdie putts on holes 10 and 18 to draw her level with Kajal Mistry of Arkansas to earn a share of the individual crown.

Caroline Canales moved into the top 20 with a 3-over 74, while Meghan Royal birdied 18 to help the Bruins finish fourth in a tightly contested team competition. Natalie Vo finished the week strong as well, moving up four spots to finish +13, while Kate Villegas rounded out the Bruin squad competing in Las Vegas with a +16 final score for the week.
