TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona senior Allie Skaggs has been named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, announced by the conference on Thursday.

Skaggs is the fourth Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year in Arizona softball history. K'Lee Arrendondo was Arizona's first honoree in 2010, Kelsey Rodriguez earned the honor in 2014, and Jessie Harper was the Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2021.

She is on track to graduate from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in journalism. In 2023, Skaggs was named an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and was a CSC Academic All-District selection. She is also a three-time Pac-12 Spring Honor Roll recipient and has maintained a 3.91 GPA during her undergraduate career.

On the field, Skaggs was the 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove winner and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after recording a perfect fielding percentage at second base. In 2022, she led the Pac-12 with 24 home runs and earned second team NFCA All-American accolades. Her 24 home runs in the 2022 season ranked 12th in Arizona history for home runs in a single season. Overall, Skaggs has hit 55 home runs during her career which ranks 14th in program history and 31st in Pac-12 history. She has earned All-Pac-12 honors three times and was named to the USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List in 2024.
