Sun Devil Baseball Weekly Preview - May 13-19
PHOENIX - Sun Devil Baseball has been on a late-season tear, earning the last three consecutive Pac-12 Player of the Week honors and earning wins in 12 of their last 15 outings. With their first sweep at Stanford since 2016, ASU has won their last four conference series and jumped into fifth in the Pac-12 standings with the conference tournament beginning next week. This week, they will play their last regular season games as Phoenix Municipal Stadium gets set to host Texas Tech for two games on Thursday and Friday, and UNLV to close out the season on Saturday.
ASU and Texas Tech enter the weekend having split their six match-ups, the last one being an 8-5 victory for the Sun Devils in 2013 at Packard Stadium. ASU will look to break the tie in the series as the two teams prepare to face each other as Big 12 rivals next season. ASU visited UNLV on a Monday night in late March earlier this season and stole a 10-9 win after letting up seven runs in the first inning and storming back to earn four in the ninth. Phoenix Municipal Stadium will play host to a game between Texas Tech and UNLV on Friday afternoon before the Sun Devils face the Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Each game this weekend will be available to stream on Pac-12 Arizona and will be broadcast to radio on KDUS AM 1060.
