Three Cougars Earn All-Pac-12 Recognition

SAN FRANCISCO (May 21, 2024) – Washington State saw three Cougars earn All-Pac-12 Conference recognition as voted on by the conference coaches, the conference office announced Tuesday.
 
Senior pitcher Grant Taylor and junior infielder Cole Cramer were both named to the All-Pac-12 Team while senior outfielder Nate Swarts was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. It is the first all-conference honor for all three players.
 
Taylor had a career year in 2024, finishing the regular season second in the Pac-12 with 99 strikeouts, third with 83.1 innings, fourth with a 1.19 WHIP and eighth with a 4.21 ERA. The senior from Murrieta, Calif. recorded five wins, struck out 10-plus hitters three times highlighted by a WSU-record 17-strikeout performance in his one-hit shutout at Washington, earning NCAA Pitcher of the Week and National Pitcher of the Week accolades from Perfect Game and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association the after the outing. In conference play, Taylor led the league with 76 strikeouts and was third with 60.1 innings. Taylor earned wins at Utah Tech, Utah, at Washington, against USC and was named to the Round Rock Classic All-Tournament Team after beating No. 24 Kentucky. Taylor's 99 strikeouts were seventh-most in WSU single-season history and finished his career with 252 strikeouts, third-most in WSU history.
 
In his lone season at WSU, the Cougars saw Linn-Benton Community College transfer Cramer finish the regular season eighth in the Pac-12 with a .364 batting average, tied for the team-high with 15 doubles along with a pair of triples, three home runs, 37 RBI and was seven-for-seven in stolen base attempts. The junior from Arlington, Wash. led the team with 19 multiple-hit games and had seven doubles in conference play.
 
Swarts closes his Cougar career with his first career All-Pac-12 honor after hitting .329, shared the team lead with 15 doubles, led the team with four triples, added four homers, 22 RBI and five stolen bases. The senior from Farmington, N.M. tallied 18 multiple-hit games, led the team with nine doubles during Pac-12 play and opened the season with a team-best 26-game on-base streak.
