Stanford Falls to No. 11 LSU

STANFORD, Calif. – The Cardinal fell 11-1 to No. 11 LSU tonight in game one of the NCAA Stanford Super Regional. Tomorrow's game two of the Super Regional becomes an elimination game for Stanford, with the Card needing a win to force a winner-take-all game three on Sunday.
 
LSU jumped out to the early lead, scoring three in the top of the first to open up the game.
 
Stanford was able to answer back quickly, with senior Aly Kaneshiro driving in a run in the home half of the second to cut it to it 3-1.
 
The Tigers added eight more in the top of the fifth to make it an 11-1 final score.
 
Stanford and the Tigers are back tomorrow for game two, which starts at 6:00 p.m. PT from Smith Family Stadium. Tickets for the game are sold out, but the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
