Huskies Blast Ducks, 19-3, To Clinch Pac-12 Opening Series

The Huskies had a historic win over the Ducks Saturday night that also might go down as a statement win. Washington beat Oregon, 19-3, Saturday at PK Park in Eugene to clinch the Pac-12 opening, three-game series and earn the school's 900th win in Conference play dating back to 1916.

UW Opens Pac-12 Play In Eugene

The Washington Huskies (9-4) open Pac-12 play this weekend on the road against the Oregon Ducks (10-5). The Huskies have won their opening series in Pac-12 -play -- all at Husky Ballpark -- three-consecutive years, including sweeps in both 2018 and 2017. Since 2000, UW has opened Pac-12 play on the road 12 times, winning the series only twice (2014 at ASU, 2007 at WSU). UW needs two wins in Pac-12 play to reach 900 wins in Conference action all-time, dating back to 1916. All three of the games at PK Park will be live streamed on Oregon's Pac-12 live streaming platform (pac-12.com/live/university-oregon). In a re-match from the 2018 NCAA Conway Regional, 17th-ranked Coastal Carolina (13-3) broke open a 2-2 tie with three runs in the eighth inning to hand Washington (8-4) its second loss in as many days in the Seattle Baseball Showcase at T-Mobile Park on Saturday.

Huskies Fall 1-0 To Indiana In Pitcher’s Duel

Three Husky pitchers combined for an outstanding effort on Friday night in day one of the Seattle Baseball Showcase at T-Mobile Park, but it was one Indiana pitcher, Pauly Milto, that ruined the night and halted Washington's seven-game win streak. The senior right-hander allowed one hit – an eighth inning single – to lead the visiting Hoosiers (7-5) to a 1-0 shutout win.
