BERKELEY – California men's basketball has announced six of its 2020-21 non-conference games, including a season-opening contest against Colorado State at a neutral site on Nov. 25.
Cal's non-conference slate is not yet finalized; the announcement of one additional non-conference game will be made at a later date.
The Bears will kick off their campaign against Colorado State and NAIA foe Northwest University on consecutive days, Nov. 25-26, as part of a multiple-team event (MTE) at Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore. The two games will be played at the Beavers' Gill Coliseum.
Four days later on Nov. 30, Cal will play its home opener against Nicholls State at Haas Pavilion.
After dipping into Pac-12 play with a pair of previously announced contests against Arizona State (Dec. 3) and UCLA (Dec. 6), Cal returns to non-conference action at Pepperdine on Dec. 9 and against San Francisco at home on Dec. 13. The Bears will then travel east to play at Boston College on Dec. 22 in a rematch of last season's clash in San Francisco.
No fans will be permitted at Haas Pavilion, per Pac-12 health guidelines. The decision to not allow fans at competitions will be revisited based upon health and safety considerations in January 2021.
