No. 8 Beavers Clash with No. 1 Washington on Friday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's soccer team resumes Pac-12 action this week as it hits the road to clash with No. 1 Washington in Seattle, Wash. on Friday at 5 p.m. The match will be broadcasted on the Pac-12 Network. The Beavers are 8-1-2 (3-0-1 Pac-12), second in the Pac-12 standings, and are ranked No. 8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches rankings. 

Last Time Out 
The Beavers shutout Saint Mary's (Calif.), 4-0, on Oct. 15 in Corvallis, Ore., marking their fifth shutout of the season. Junior Adrian Crespo scored the Beavers' first goal, as well as his first goal of the season, in the 13th minute with assists from redshirt senior Tsiki Ntsabeleng and redshirt sophomore Carlos Moliner. Graduate student Adrian Molina-Diaz posted OSU's second goal, and his sixth of the season, off an assist from junior Sofiane Djeffal. Redshirt senior Tyrone Mondi found the net in the 46th and 63rd minutes of action, also posting his sixth goal of the season. Mondi's first goal was assisted by Molina-Diaz and his second was assisted by Ntsabeleng.
 
Last Time Against Washington
Oregon State met with Washington twice in the spring for the 2020 season. On Feb. 20, the No. 22 Beavers edged past the Huskies, 2-1, in Seattle, Wash. Gloire Amanda scored both of Oregon State's goals unassisted, finding the net in the 57th and 71st minutes. No. 3 OSU met with Washington again on Mar. 24, falling to the Huskies, 2-1, in Corvallis, Ore. Mouhameth Thiam scored the Beavers' sole goal of the match in the 26th minute of play and was assisted by Ntsabeleng and Mondi. The Beavers are 16-36-3 in their all-time series with Washington. 
 
Scouting Washington
The Huskies are 12-0-0 (4-0-0 Pac-12) this season, marking six shutouts. Washington edged past UC Davis (Aug. 26) in double overtime and Utah Valley (Sept. 16), Seattle (Sept. 20), and San Diego State (Sept. 30) in overtime. 
 
Washington's leading scorer is junior Dylan Teves, who has notched four goals, three of which were game-winners. Teves also leads the Huskies in the assists category, with six. In goal, sophomore Sam Fowler has clocked 1011:22 minutes, marking 33 saves and allowing five goals. The Huskies have tallied 30 goals compared to five scored by opponents. 
 
In the spring, Washington went 12-4-0 (7-3-0 Pac-12). The Huskies posted six shutouts over the course of the regular season and went on a five-match win-streak from Feb. 27 to Mar. 24 that included victories over Cal, San Diego State, Seattle, UCLA, No. 2 Stanford, and No. 3 Oregon State. The No. 7 Huskies earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament, where they defeated Grand Canyon on May 2 in the second round and Missouri State on May 6 in the sweet 16 round, with scores of 2-0 each. Washington's run ended May 10, with a 3-0 loss to No. 2 Pittsburgh in the elite eight.
