USC's Indoor Athletic Events At Galen Center Begin Phased Reopening For Fans

Jan 21, 2022

LOS ANGELES — USC's indoor athletic events will be limited to 50 percent capacity with additional accommodations for the health and safety of the community. This capacity restriction will still accommodate all USC men's and women's basketball season ticket holders, and all fans who have already purchased tickets to upcoming athletic events at the Galen Center will be admitted.  These indoor event modifications will be evaluated on an ongoing basis, and any changes will be communicated to the public.

Indoor athletic events had been closed to the general public for the past two weeks in alignment with the university beginning the Spring semester with remote instruction. The university announced today (Jan. 21) that in-person instruction will resume Monday, Jan. 24.

The following modifications will apply to all upcoming indoor home athletic events, beginning with the 6 p.m. USC women's basketball rivalry game against UCLA on Jan. 23 at Galen Center, and continuing until further notice:

  • Indoor capacity limited to 50 percent; accordingly, no additional single-game tickets will be sold for the next three USC men's basketball home games (Jan. 24 vs. Arizona State, Jan. 27 vs. Stanford and Jan. 29 vs. California).

  • For events with general admission seating, attendees will be encouraged to be seated with appropriate physical distancing.

  • Students attending men's basketball games will be divided into lower and upper levels; students will be seated in pairs with appropriate physical distancing.

All other gameday health and safety protocols remain in place.
