The 2020 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships kicked off with the 4x200 freestyle relay and 4x100 medley relay Wednesday night. Cal's team of Zheng Quah, Bryce Mefford, Daniel Carr and Trenton Julian won the first relay in 6:11.47, 0.47 seconds off the Bears' meet record set in 2019. Cal also initially won the second event, but was disqualified for a false start; original second-place finisher Arizona State was also disqualified for the same reason. In the Bears' stead, Stanford's team of Benjamin Ho, Hank Poppe, Alex Jiang and Mason Gonzalez took the win in 3:06.81.
