California softball evened the series with No. 24 Utah with a 5-1 win in Berkeley on April 1, 2023. The Golden Bears scored four runs in the fifth which included a homer from Makena Smith and a two-RBI single from Kennedy Thomas. Tianna Bell also homered for Cal. Sophie Jacquez had two hits for the Utes.
