Washington State women's basketball's Krystal Leger-Walker is the Cougars' 2021-22 female Tom Hansen Medal winner. Leger-Walker earned her undergraduate degree in finance and management and is pursuing a master’s degree in sport management. She was a two-time Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll recipient (2021, 2022), helping WSU Women’s Basketball earn its first-ever WBCA Academic Top 25 honor in 2021. On the court, Leger-Walker was a two-time Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honorable mention (2021, 2022) and an honorable mention All-Pac-12 performer in 2021-22. She helped WSU to 31 wins during two seasons, including program-record overall (19) and conference (11) victories during her final season in 2021-22. Leger-Walker also helped the Cougars to first back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in program history (2021, 2022), and led the Pac-12 with 109 assists in 2020-21 season and with 243 total over her two seasons at WSU. She volunteered at WSU Athletics holiday events for local children.
