In the 68th minute, Joel Walker gave the Beavers a 1-0 lead after what had been a back-and-forth matchup between the two squads up to that point. Five minutes later the Cardinal scored on a penalty kick to tie the game. Stanford outshot Oregon state 17-8, but Beavers goalkeeper Adrian Fernandez had seven saves on the day to help keep the final score knotted up at 1-1.
