Stanford took its opening game of the Stanford Regional in the 2023 NCAA Softball Tournament 1-0 over Long Beach State on May 19, 2023. Taylor Gindlesperger provided the run with a go-ahead double for the Cardinal in the sixth. Stanford's Alana Vawter tossed a complete game shutout and won her 18th game of the season.
