Men’s Track Athletes of the Week: 4x100m Relay, Arizona

  • Arizona’s men’s 4x100m relay squad of Trayvion White-Austin, Brian Limage, Carl Hicks, and James Onanubosi won the event at the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Ariz.
  • Won the relay with a time of 39.15, the third-fastest time in program history and currently tied for the eighth-best performance in the NCAA this year.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Caisja Chandler, Gr., USC (Cleveland, Ohio)

  • Won the women’s 100m dash at the Trojan Invitational with a lifetime-best time of 10.99, the third-fastest time in USC history.
  • Set a Loker Stadium facility record with her time in the 100m and moved into a tie for eighth place all-time in Pac-12 history in the event. She’s just the ninth-ever woman in Pac-12 history to run a wind-legal time under 11 seconds.
  • Ran the second leg of USC’s 4x400m relay team and contributed to a time of 3:26.96, the fifth-fastest performance in USC history and the No. 10 time in Pac-12 history.
  • Also ran a leg on USC’s winning 4x100m relay team which posted a time of 43.41, the eighth-fastest time in the nation this year.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Mykolas Alekna, So., California (Vilnius, Lithuania)

  • Won the men’s discus competition at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational in Berkeley with a meet-record toss of 68.39m (224-4).
  • Took the world lead with the performance and now owns the second-best throw in collegiate history, just over a foot off his own collegiate record of 68.73m (225-6).
  • NCAA and Pac-12 leader in the event by over 14 feet.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Jordinde van Klinken, Sr., Oregon (Assen, The Netherlands)

  • Won the collegiate women’s discus competition at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, setting a new Oregon record in the event with a lifetime-best mark of 67.05m (219-11).
  • The mark is good for third-best all-time in NCAA history and just under three meters off her lifetime-best (70.22m, 230-4), set back in 2021 while competing for Arizona State.
  • Leads the NCAA in the event and posted the No. 2 throw in the world this year.
