BOULDER -  Nebraska week is in full swing as the University of Colorado football team continues its preparation for a showdown with the rival Cornhuskers on Friday.

With a win (or an Iowa State loss to Kansas), the Buffs can wrap up the Big 12 North and punch their tickets to the Big 12 Championship game for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

"There is no better way to do it than to clinch the Big 12 North at home in front of our fans," senior V-Back Lawrence Vickers said. "We play great football at home."

The Buffs had a chance to win the division against Iowa State on Nov. 12, but two costly turnovers which were returned for ISU scores have delayed CU's title aspirations and added extra importance to a game where motivation will not run dry. Vickers said the team has gotten over the loss and is strictly looking forward to this week.

"I don't even remember Iowa State," he said. "Did we play them this year? I can't remember."

Win or lose, this week's home finale against Nebraska will be a memorable one, especially for the 20 seniors who will make their final appearances at Folsom Field for the Buffs.

"To stand there in front of the crowd and be recognized in front of their teammates is a special moment for them," head coach Gary Barnett said. "They deserve it. Every single one of those guys will tug at me, especially in light of the last two years."
