Women's T&F Moves up to No. 15

May 3, 2011

NEW ORLEANS - Just one week after falling from No. 16 to No. 23 in the USTFCCCA Rankings, the University of Colorado women's track and field team shot back up the poll to No. 15, its highest ranking of the season.

The Buffs have a team total of 115.73 points in the computer generated poll. The shift in the rankings came after Emma Coburn ran the fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time this season in the NCAA, as well as the world, in 9 minutes, 40.51 seconds. Shalaya Kipp also ran well in the steeplechase, clocking the fourth fastest time in the NCAA this season (10:03.37).  Jessica Pixler adds significant points to the team total as she has the top time in the NCAA in the 5,000-meter run (15:25.58).

LSU remained the top team in the women's poll with 327.03 points and Texas A&M is the top men's team (358.58).

Colorado is off this week but will be back in action May 13-15 at the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Norman, Okla.
