Roundup: A new look in Berkeley

Apr 11, 2013

Cal unveiled its new logos and uniforms, and the athletic department has a page dedicated to explaining and displaying the new look. Whatcha think?

One of the newest members of the Pac-12 was in the national spotlight last night, as USC head coach Andy Enfield appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. That link text is part 1 of the interview, and here's part 2. Gotta love Charlie Sheen giving him the 'ole "atta-boy" a couple of times. Hashtag winning.

Some unfortunate news in Boulder—quarterback Jordan Webb tore his ACL and is out for the 2013 season. The fifth-year senior will work with CU compliance to see if he can get a sixth go at it.

Gregg Bell always has something good to write about, and he certainly doesn't fail us with his latest version of Unleashed about John Timu and how we view football players. The Husky linebacker is the first U-Dub student-athlete to win the Baldwin Scholarship in Anthropology.

Spring football is all the craze now, and the folks over at the Gazette Times have reason to believe that it has been going on at Oregon State for 100 years exactly.

Check out a Q&A with Kevin Hogan, thanks to CBS Sports. Gotta work on him becoming a West Coast guy, but to each his own...

Christian Caple keeps the news and features coming out of the Palouse, and his latest installment is a five questions with Washington State linebacker Darryl Monroe. I need to try some of his lasagna.

Former UCLA safety Tevin McDonald has decided to transfer to Eastern Washington, an FCS powerhouse that almost took down Washington State this past fall.

Congrats to Dion Jordan, who has been invited to attend the NFL Draft along with more than 20 other peeps.

Utah's Star Lotulelei was also offered a chance to go, but the defensive tackle Lotulelei has declined the invite to the NFL Draft in order to watch it with family and friends at home.

Arizona State currently has a deal to host Notre Dame in 2014 in football, but word is that the Golden Domers are trying to get out of it. However, Arizona State is not giving up on a 2014 game against Notre Dame.

It's time to officially say goodbye to Kevin Parrom, who has decided to not try for a fifth year at Arizona. He would have had to apply for a hardship waiver that might have granted him an extra year of eligibility, but the feeling was that he played in too many games for it to be a real possibility.
