2014 Pac-12 Football Schedule Release

BERKELEY – Cal’s 2014 football schedule, announced Wednesday by the Pac-12, features six games at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium, a Friday match-up against Oregon in Santa Clara and five road contests, including a Thursday night tilt at USC.

The Golden Bears will play Pac-12 opponents Colorado, Washington, UCLA and Stanford in Berkeley, host Oregon on Friday, Oct. 24 at the new Levi’s® Stadium, and visit Arizona, Washington State, Oregon State and USC.

In non-conference games previously announced, Cal opens the year at Northwestern Aug. 30 before welcoming Sacramento State to Strawberry Canyon Sept. 6. The Bears will close out the regular season vs. BYU at home on Nov. 29.

Cal’s Pac-12 home opener will be Sept. 27 vs. Colorado, with additional home dates on Oct. 11 vs. Washington (Alumni & Family Weekend/Homecoming), Oct. 18 vs. UCLA and Nov. 22 vs. Stanford in the 117th Big Game. The Bears will also travel to conference foes Arizona (Sept. 20), Washington State (Oct. 4), Oregon State (Nov. 1) and USC (Nov. 13).

Nine of Cal’s 2014 opponents played in bowls last season, with six of them coming out victorious.

The Cal-Oregon game will be the first-ever collegiate football contest at the new home of the San Francisco 49ers and site of Super Bowl L in 2016. The Bears will have two byes during the year, coming on the season’s third and 11th weeks.

Every football game played at Pac-12 sites will be televised. A combination of the ESPN channels, ABC, FOX and FOX Sports 1 will broadcast 44 games nationally and Pac-12 Networks will offer 35 games to a national audience. Exact broadcast schedules and kickoff times will be determined at a later date.

The Pac-12 Championship Game will be televised by FOX and played Friday, Dec. 5 between the winners of the conference’s North and South Divisions at the home of the team with the best overall conference record.
