Pac-12 announces January swimmer and diver of the month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – STANFORD senior Felicia Lee was named Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Month and CALIFORNIA sophomore Anne Kastler was named Diver of the Month for the month of the January, the Conference office announced Thursday. 

Lee, a Wayne, N.J. native, went undefeated in individual and relay races throughout the month of January to help the Cardinal remain unbeaten in dual meets. She won a total of 14 competitions in four meets during the month, comprising of nine different events. Her best time of the month came in the 100-free against Arizona State on Jan. 25, where she recorded a time of 50.02.

Kaster, a native of Bethesda, Md., finished no lower than second on the 1-meter board in five competitions in January, recording wins in dual meets with Arizona, USC and UCLA. She was also Cal’s top finisher on the platform in the Bruin Invitation Jan. 10-12. Her 295.2 in the 1-meter against Arizona State was her highest score of the year and led all Cal divers at the dual. Kaster also earned top-three finishes on the 3-meter board in four of the five competitions during the month. 

This is the second-career Swimmer of the Month honor for Lee, who also earned the award for the month of November, and the 11th overall for Stanford. Lee is just the eighth multi-award winner since the award’s inception in 2004. Kastler earns her first-career weekly honor and California’s second overall.
