MARANA, Ariz. -- The STANFORD Cardinal hold a four-stroke lead over defending Pac-12 Champion CALIFORNIA and are currently 2-under when second round play was suspended due to darkness during a windy first day of the Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championship at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Ariz.

 

 

Only three teams were able to complete the second round - California, COLORADO and USC when play was suspended at 6:55 p.m. PT. 

 

Stanford led the team race after the first round with a 2-over 362, and continued to pace the field in the second round with two golfers still on the course. 

 

Stanford’s Patrick Rodgers carded two eagles on the back nine of his second round and is the leading individual at 6-under with two holes remaining to play in his second round.

 

All five golfers who were tied in second place completed their second round. After a one-over first round, CALIFORNIA’s Brandon Hagy birdied five holes during his second round and is currently at

2-under 142 (73-69). Joining Hagy at 2-under were teammates Shotaro Ban (73-69) and Joel Stalter (74-68), Stanford’s Viraat Badhwar (72-70) and USC’s Paul Smith (71-71).

 

WASHINGTON STATE junior Michael Anderson was one of six golfers to shoot under par during the first round and led all individuals with a 2-under 71 after the first round.

 

Teams will complete the second round Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. PT. Third round play will commence once the course is repaired and pins set, which will be approximately 10 a.m. PT.

 

The Championship will conclude with the final round on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. PT
