Video: Cal's Sandy Barbour on remembering Ted Agu through scholarship fund

Apr 26, 2014

The Cal football family lost the late Ted Agu in February, but thanks to the newly announced Ted Agu Memorial Scholarship Fund, his memory will live on forever in Berkeley.

Agu, a 21-year-old lineman who would be heading into his senior year, passed away after collapsing in the middle of a conditioning run. Since then, the Berkeley community has rallied to honor the late student-athlete and the impact he had on the Cal athletic department.

Cal athletic director Sandy Barbour is partnering with Agu's family on the scholarship fund with the goal of supporting one student-athlete every year in memory of Agu, who was a public health major with plans to pursue medicine.
