National Signing Day 2015: Oregon State snags Phoenix RB as major commit

Feb 4, 2015

Gary Andersen has only been on the job at Oregon State for a few months, but he's already making an enormous impact on the Pac-12.

Case in point: Oregon State is doing work on National Signing Day this year, and perhaps the crown jewel of his 2015 class is a running back who originally committed to Arizona State.

Paul Lucas, the No. 1 running back in the state of Arizona according to Scout.com, sent his letter of intent to Corvallis Wednesday after initially giving his commitment to ASU this past December. Pac-12 Networks analyst Yogi Roth says that Andersen and his staff have finished this recruiting season incredibly strong and that Lucas is the gem of this class.

Lucas was a star for Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix in 2014, a season that included both a 285- and 298-yard single-game rushing performances.
